Baby It's You: The Week that Defined Our Future Together
There's an ocean here, but you are all I see
And nothing else matters
You, baby, it's you…
I left my phone in my car, so when I returned, Scott messaged, "And it turns out I was wrong about being busy this Friday. So, uh, if you're feeling impatient about seeing this goofy charming rogue again... Because he'd very much like to see you if you're up for it."
At that point, I was very much smitten and couldn't wait to see him again.
That Friday isn't one to forget. We had our long-awaited first kiss. (A few days was starting to feel like an eternity.) Before we ventured off to Solvang and Santa Barbara together, I bought ceviche from Community Love Creations for lunch at his place. After, Scott wanted to show me his room and the reading pillow that just arrived. He suggested I try it out, and I did. When he helped me off the bed, it happened. Our lips touched.
Although Solvang and Santa Barbara are incredible places to visit, the best memories of that day were in the car. The beautiful views, the conversations, and the music played. Scott introduced me to a genre I rarely listen to on my own. He sang his heart out. By the time we were driving around in Santa Barbara, The Fray's cover of Kanye West's "Heartless" comes on. He didn't expect me to know the song. It was the first song we sang together. Scott brought out this side of me. I rarely feel comfortable singing in front of anyone; yet, I was so comfortable around him.
As we were waiting for a table at Santo Mezcal, Scott tells me, "Today was the first time I felt like myself in months." From our impromptu first date, our long calls on the phone, and a fun day out and about, the way we were together didn't feel like two strangers spending time. It felt like we have always meant to be together.
Cuttteee first kiss💜 I can visualize it 🎊
